Budget SUV shopping
Start with the total you can spend, then compare individual vehicles—not just badges. A lower asking price leaves more room for other costs only if the SUV does not need expensive work straight away.

Use the higher ceiling only if it fits your budget. Compare what the extra money buys in the actual listings: model year, mileage, equipment and documented condition. A higher price alone does not prove a better vehicle.
